Embarking on this voyage in 2016, we initially explored the narrative of the 134th AKIHO Honbuten, enriching our tale with an exclusive dialogue featuring AKIHO President, Endou Takashi, within a comprehensive 110-page exploration.

Now, seven years onward, we unwrap a re-envisioned and enriched iteration of the project. Striving to eclipse its predecessor, this edition substantially deepens its original scope, presenting freshly-woven insights over 404 pages. Extending beyond just a single exhibition, this exploration meanders through eight AKIHO Honbuten, including an in-depth look at the anticipated 148th AKIHO Honbuten this coming December.

Measuring 25 x 20 cm, this edition delivers extensive background information about the breed and introduces a newly articulated translation of AKIHO’s Akita Inu breed standard. Additionally, readers will be invited into an enlightening conversation within a 15-page interview with Saitou Akira, longtime AKIHO Judge and former Director of Judging, who shares invaluable insights into the world of the Akita Inu breed.
